Applying to Highline College?

If you have any questions, please contact the Admissions team at admissions@highline.edu or the TRIO team at trio@highline.edu.

Questions & tips for the admissions application:

If you already applied to another Washington CTC with this account, please use that account information to log in. You can’t make a new account with the same email and this ctcLink account (and ID number) will eventually be used for ALL Washington community and technical colleges.

If you do not have a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN), you can leave it blank. If you do have a SSN or ITIN, it is recommended to add it so your admissions application can be linked to your financial aid application (FAFSA/WASFA).

Don’t click the blue ‘Submit Application button’ in the middle of the page until everything is complete. There is a menu bar on the right side that shows all of your application sections. Make sure everything has a green checkmark to show that it is complete.

For now, ELCAP students at Highline should submit the admissions application. In the future, you will not need to submit a second application after doing the ELCAP program at Highline.

Use the Admissions Tips Page for more tips on how to complete the application.

There are three sections where you would include information about your Washington state residency:

  • Application Questionnaire: You could skip the section asking about visa statuses.
  • Bio – Demo Information – Citizenship: If you are not an international student, choose ‘USA’ for country (even for undocumented students) and select which status closely matches yours. If you can’t find it, you can select ‘Other.’
  • Residency: The residency affidavit is included at the top and is optional for students to fill out. The questions are to get more information about your Washington residency, including any ties and housing information to show you’ve been in Washington for at least 12 consecutive months. Note: If you submit a WASFA application, you do not need to submit a residency affidavit.

IMPORTANT: You can add multiple countries in the Citizenship section. Make sure to select ‘USA’ for a country, if you are an undocumented student with DACA, SB 5194 (formerly HB 1079), fill out WASFA, or otherwise live in Washington permanently and consider WA your home.

After this application, you may be selected for a residency review with the Admissions office. You’ll provide information to show 12-months of residency (housing, employment, etc.).

Contact Admissions for any questions you have. It is best to pause the application and ask your question, rather than to submit your application and provide additional documents with the correct information. Students commonly have questions about the parent, citizenship, and SSN sections.

You can’t change your name once your account is created. Please contact Admissions to make the correction.

Do not reapply to fix an error. We cannot block duplicate records. Please contact Admissions at admissions@highline.edu to make corrections. For example: fixing typos, changing your admission term, etc.

If you need help with completing this application, Admissions have Zoom drop-in hours on Mon-Thurs 11am-1pm and Friday (8:30am-1pm)
