  • Looking for an on-campus job? Bookmark the Thunder Bulletin for on-campus student jobs throughout the year. Student jobs can be really helpful, since you are a student first and a student worker second!

Internships and scholarships:

Apply for one of the UW Martin Family Foundation Scholarship!

  • Open now for early planners (2025-26 transfers): The Martin Family Foundation Achievement Scholarship application is now available. Deadline for applications is April 4, 2024.
    • This scholarship is open to WA resident students who have another year of full-time enrollment left to complete at their WA community college during 2024-25 and are looking forward to transferring to UW Seattle during the 2025-26 academic year (summer 2025 or later).
    • The scholarship provides $5,000 during the final year at community college (2024-25) and $12,000/year at UW Seattle (contingent upon admission) starting in 2025.
    • This scholarship program typically receives a small number of applications for the 2-4 scholarships available. For those who can plan ahead, this is a good opportunity!
  • Will open in May for students planning to transfer this year: The Martin Family Foundation Honors Scholarship application will have a deadline of July 1, 2024.
    • This scholarship is open to WA resident students transferring from any community college in WA to UW Seattle for the coming 2024-25 academic year. Students transferring in spring 2024, summer 2024, fall 2024, or winter 2025 should apply for this scholarship when the application opens in May.
    • This scholarship provides $12,000/year for students once admitted to UW Seattle (contingent upon admission).
    • The application portal for this scholarship will open in May.

Apply for the Sea Mar LEAP Rise Above Scholarship!

  • The Latino/a Educational Achievement Project Scholarship provides financial support for students who demonstrate advocacy, accountability, perseverance, and have shown a commitment to improving their community. To be eligible to apply, an applicant must:
    • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in at least 10 credits in an institute of higher education.
    • Demonstrate advocacy, accountability, and perseverance.
    • Show commitment to improving their community.
    • Exhibit financial need due to individual/family hardship.
    • In order to disseminate funds to as many students as possible, students are eligible for one Sea Mar Scholarship at the undergraduate level, and one Sea Mar Scholarship at the graduate level.
    • This scholarship is open to any student regardless of citizenship status.
  • Scholarship amount is $2,500. For any questions, contact the Sea Mar Scholarship Office at keniadiaz@seamarchc.org or scholarships@seamarchc.org. Apply here by April 15 at 11:59pm PST!

Apply for Fred Hutch Program for Advancing Career Exploration (PACE)!

  • The Fred Hutch Program for Advancing Career Exploration (PACE) is now open for students from 2- or 4-year colleges/universities to apply. This will be a 5-week, paid experience designed to introduce students to a wide array of roles in the biomedical sciences that do not require an MD or PhD. As part of the program, students will attend Fred Hutch one day per week to explore careers in areas ranging from Flow Cytometry and Proteomics to Clinical Research Support. Students will meet professionals to learn about their roles and career paths and engage in real-life scientific case studies. In addition, students will gain professional skills, such as building a strong resume and networking, that will prepare them to apply for positions. Apply here by March 25!

  • Internships with the City of Seattle are posted year-round, so we recommend you bookmark this page and check it monthly. During winter and spring quarter, check it weekly for summer internships!

  • The Highline Transfer Center website has tons of resources as you plan for transferring. Check out their in-state transfer page. It include links to public and private university websites to easily access transfer dates and resources. Their calendar also has transfer application dates and deadlines.
