- Course Registration: Navigating the online registration process
- Educational Degree Planning: Creating a detailed plan that charts your educational progress from quarter to graduation
- Career Clarification: Deciding on a career and the steps you need to take to pursue that career
- Transfer Advising: Navigating the transfer process, including: researching colleges, assisting with college applications and personal statements
- Classroom Advocacy: Understanding how to effectively communicate your academic needs to your instructor
- Academic Skills Development: Practicing academic skills and learning strategies, including note-taking methods, time management, meta-cognitive skill development
- Professional Mentorship: Encouraging you as your mentors and coaches to help cheer you on, and keep you accountable to your goals and values
Scheduling an Appointment with Your Advisor
Current TRiO Students: To make an appointment with your advisor, please contact TRiO Program Specialist at bxiong@highline.edu or your advisor directly. If you are unable to make an appointment, a 24-hour notice is appreciated, so other students can fill these slots. Most appointments are scheduled for a 30-minute time slot; if you require more time, please let us know.
