Tukwila Promise at Highline College

 

What is Tukwila Promise?

Launched in April 2025, Tukwila Promise was created through a collaborative partnership between Tukwila School District, City of Tukwila, and Highline College to provide financial resources and necessary support to students as they transition from Foster High School to Highline College. If you are graduating from Foster High School and planning to attend Highline College, you can benefit from Tukwila Promise! To learn more, visit the Tukwila Promise Media Release.

Tukwila Promise provides both a scholarship and support services to students to be successful at Highline College. Students who meet all of the requirements and deadlines will be able to take advantage of Tukwila Promise.

Requirements

  • Graduate from Foster High School (Students in Achieve Program Must Have Transition Plan)
  • No Citizenship Requirement
  • Enroll at Highline College
  • Enroll in Minimum of 12 Credits Each Quarter (Students in Achieve Program Must Enroll in Minimum of 10 Credits Each Quarter)
  • Enroll in Financial Aid-Eligible Degree or Certificate
  • Participate in Highline College Learning Community/Cohort
  • Not Yet Completed College Degree or Certificate
  • Not Yet Attempted 90 College-Level Credits
  • Not Available Summer Quarter

Deadlines

The priority deadline for students to receive Tukwila Promise funding for Fall 2026 is Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Interest Form

Complete the online or paper application (not both) to apply for Tukwila Promise. A parent/guardian signature is required.

Info Sessions

Foster High School students and families are invited to attend any of our upcoming Info Sessions to learn more about Tukwila Promise. If you are unable to attend, you can view the presentation slides here.

Support Workshops

Foster High School students and families who need assistance with signing up for Tukwila Promise are encouraged to visit Ms. Mai Xee in the College & Career Center on Mondays-Wednesdays, or attend one of our upcoming Support Workshops.
